Vintage bakelite necklace pendant

I couldn't resist but to share with you this antique store find. I was visiting Ipswich the other week for a day of shopping with Mum. There are loads of fantastic antique stores, homewares and handmade gift shops dotted around the historic town, and while at the Ipswich Antique Centre on Roderick St I spotted this delightful necklace pendant. It has a mint-coloured bakelite doggy head mounted on a square of glass that has a gold trimming! Isn't it unusual?

My Birthday tea party picnic!

It was my 29th birthday this weekend just gone. Not the most important milestone but none the less worth celebrating as it was my first birthday party in Australia in four years after returning from the UK. So how better to celebrate than a very English tea party picnic in the park! Over the past couple of years I have been accumulating everything that one needs to throw such an event. Favourite things

When Monday bites, when the hang-over stings, when I'm feeling sad... I simply remember my favourite things. I love cake! And I'm not too proud to admit it! I love making it, looking at it and eating it. Especially cupcakes and these are cute and small and perfect. Tip: Cake goes very well with tea. I love Frankie, and Australian magazine for creative folk. It brings me so much inspiration, I'm always more motivated to live a creative life after curling up with Frankie and a cup of tea (and probably some cake, see above.)
