How would you describe your design style?
I would describe it as feminine, nostalgic, and full of texture. I love details, not just looking at the big picture, but also the finer details.
Who or what influences your style?
I am influenced by a lot of things. I keep a ever growing list of sites that inspire me, and collect a lot of items and images that I feel inspired by. I love vintage things, stuff with character and texture. I think as a designer, its important to always have your eyes open, and allow yourself to be inspired by the world and things around you.
Would you consider yourself a homely creature?
Yes very much so, I do like going on adventures and country drives, but at heart I'm very homely. Especially since I work from home, I spend a lot of time at home. And I enjoying doing homely things, like cooking, gardening and relaxing on the couch.
What do you do if you have a slow day working from home?
I don't think I have had a 'slow day' in a very long time! So I actually find slow days exciting, as its a chance to catch up with my personal things, like my own website or do some baking or organise my office better. It becomes a day to get on top of things that get neglected.
Tell us about your home, what is your favourite room?
I'd have to say my office, as its full of most of my collections and inspirations. I collect a lot of vintage things, so my office is full of all my finds, and they make me happy.
Are you currently or were you recently on the hunt for a particular piece of home décor to finish a room? And if so, where do you look?
We do need a bookshelf, but are yet to find the right one. We have been looking at second hand stores, vintage shops and auctions. My husband and I love old things, as they are often better made than new stuff.
And finally, do you have any hopes or goals for 2013?
We hope to buy a house actually! For months we have been sussing out different areas, and wondering where we would like to buy and settle, so hopefully we can find the right place to call home this year. I'd also like to do some travelling, it doesn't have to be far, but just explore new places I haven't been to before.
